J. Hal Caton
Hal has been Registered Architect (Emeritus) and a Certified Building Official (Retired).
When he returned from a stint as a Naval Intelligence Officer during the Vietnam Conflict, the economy was “in the toilet” and there were no jobs for Architects. He took a job in the public sector and became a respected member of the code enforcement community. His public career culminated 20 years later (1994), after 5 years as an executive (Chief Building Official) for the City of Houston. Making use of his 20 years of code experience, he opened his own practice as a code consultant. He has been providing architects, developers, and contractors with expert advice for over 25 years.
Carla Houser
Carla is a Graduate Architect. She has been providing architects, developers, and contractors with permitting assistance since 2000. Her long term relationships with City of Houston staff are invaluable.
Brandon Tanner
Brandon has been assisting architects, developers, and contractors with their permitting needs since 2011. He is also a professional marching band arranger, instructor, clinician, and adjudicator for clients all over the United States. He also composes for film, television, video games and other media.

Karen is the CFO of Caton Management, Inc, since 1994. She has edited books for best-selling authors. for Caton Management is the General Partner of Code Doctor, L.P. dba Caton Consulting Inc.
